Welcome to Taraiwa

Here at Taraiwa our focus is on creating a RideShare community and helping each student save time and money. 

We understand the financial struggle of being a student, we were once where you are now, we became frustrated with the cost of commuting, sitting in traffic to then having to drive around and around to find that elusive parking space, and if you didn't want to play musical Car's very 2 hour's well you forked out a fortune each week for paid parking. But it wasn't just the students who drove that faced challenges, it was also the student who relied on public transport and who where at the mercy of the bus schedules and faced multiple changes and extended commute  times to reach campus. 

We wanted to find a solution to this, we started to Carpool but only with our friends and our schedules didn't always align so we though how can we connect with other students to carpool with, we quickly realised that nearly all students where in the same situation so we decided to find a solution and help ALL students to commute to uni in a more affordable manner. Taraiwa RideShare was born.

The benefit that was not planned was the connections that students made with their RideShare buddies, it enabled students to meet new people, build new friendships and develop relationships with other like minded students. 

At this point we realised we had inadvertently created a community and it became our mission to nurture and grow this aspects of Taraiwa.
